Guacamole
Did you know that the word guacamole comes from the Nahuatl word “ahuaca-molli” meaning “avocado sauce”?
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when guacamole was first invented, but most sources agree that it has existed for over half a millennia. The rich fiber, minerals, and healthy fat found in the main ingredient: avocados, provided vital nutrients to the Aztec diet.
Typically made by mixing mashed avocados, onions, cilantro, and lime juice, this delicious side dish has become a staple of Mexican cuisine all over the world.
